CONSIDERING A VALENTINE’S DAY PROPOSAL?

Now that the new year has begun and your new calendar is on the wall, there might be one thing on your mind after the warmth and romance of the holiday season—a proposal! If you are considering proposing on Valentine’s Day this year, there are several things you should keep in mind to make the experience as romantic and beautiful as possible.

DON’T PROPOSE AT AN EXPECTED TIME

Many people in serious relationships somewhat expect to be proposed to on Valentine’s Day, so find a way to surprise your partner with when exactly you propose. Maybe propose before you even leave for your dinner reservation and before your chauffeur ever arrives. Unless you know your partner would love a stereotypical Valentine’s Day dessert proposal, try to work out a unique time to pop the question.

DO THINK ABOUT YOUR PARTNER WHEN CHOOSING HOW TO PROPOSE

If your partner loves drama and romance, a public Valentine’s Day proposal might be perfect. However, if a public proposal would leave them blushing and running for the exit, opt for a more private proposal instead. Keep this in mind when considering adding fancy extra elements like a private serenade or a band to your Valentine’s Day proposal.

DON’T HIDE THE RING SOMEWHERE STRANGE

Rings do not belong in food. Rings do not belong in drinks. Rings to do not belong in boxes of chocolates, or unnoticeable boxes, or beer glasses, or behind ears, or in wallets, or anywhere like that. Hiding a ring means more stress for you and potential choking for your partner, so play it safe (literally) and just keep your ring in a box.
