The Manayunk Arts Festival is a neighborhood-wide celebration of art in the historic district of Manayunk in Philadelphia, PA. Every year, 300 artists from all over the country line Main Street to sell and display their photography, jewelry, paintings and more. Besides shopping for one of a kind art, visitors are invited to dine al fresco at the various restaurants and visit the Emerging Artists Tent which showcases young and up-and-coming artists. The Manayunk Arts Festival hosts hundreds of artists and welcomes more than 200,000 festival goers throughout its two-day run. These artists, from all over the country, will gather together to sell their handmade items in individual tents. Items for sale include art in seven different categories: fiberglass and ceramics, photography, wood and sculpture, painting and drawing, jewelry and mixed media. Look forward to one-of-a-kind wooden creations, scarves, capes for youngsters, collages made of botanicals and more. For the sixth year running, an emerging artist tent will exhibit work by fresh and undiscovered locals, giving burgeoning artists the chance to show and sell their wares. Although Philadelphia has many festivals, the Manayunk has a special place in the heart of the art community.

The arts on display may be the festival’s highlight, but festival goers should leave time for eating and drinking in Manayunk, too. The festival itself includes traditional street fare, but look to Main Street Manayunk eateries to dish a wide variety of food catering for all tastes. With at least 50 dining spots in the town, almost every craving can be satisfied. Popular Main Street spots include Winnie’s Le Bus, Han Dynasty, Derek’s and the tucked away Manayunk Brewery and Restaurant.
